Billy Pauch Jr. Opens Georgetown Season in Top Form

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE………
(April 3, 2026): Billy Pauch Jr. of Frenchtown, NJ kicked off the 2026 season at Georgetown Speedway in victory lane as he captured the 25 lap Mark “Coot” Williams Memorial presented by Capstone Homes. Pauch charged to the front from his 8th starting spot in just 6 laps and then powered away from early leader Ryan Godown to pocket the $3,026 first place prize for the Millman’s NAPA Auto Parts Modifieds.
“I haven’t had a car like this since I won 5 straight a couple years ago,” stated Pauch in the Ad-Art Signs victory lane, ”I knew we had a good car, and when I drew 8th I knew it would be a challenge. But my team really had the car dialed in and we were able to get to the front quickly.”
Austin Hubbard & Ryan Godown brought the field to the start with the duo trading the top spot back and forth while Pauch wasted no time charging up to third in just two laps. After a quick caution for HJ Bunting stopping in turn one, Godown wrestled the lead away from Hubbard on the restart and paced the field while Pauch chased after him into second. Just as the battle for the top spot started to heat up, the yellow came out on lap 5 slowing the action. The restart saw Pauch switch to the high side and blast around Godown for the lead. Godown now had his hands full holding onto second with Hubbard, and the defending champ Jordan Watson applying pressure. Over the next 12 laps Pauch continued to increase his lead until a final caution appeared with just 5 laps remaining for debris closing the field back up. Although Godown tried several grooves over the final circuits, Pauch proved to be too strong and drove away to score the popular victory. Godown put forth a strong effort to finish second while Danny Bouc rounded out the podium in third after starting from row four. Austin Hubbard rallied in the closing laps grabbing 4th and cashing in on two bonuses, the top finishing Wegner Racing engine bonus for $250 & the Eastern Shore bonus worth $100. Ryan Krachun battled back thru the field after suffering a flat tire on lap 6 to finish fifth.
Trevor Collins of Seaford, DE took top honors in the Mark “Coot” Williams Memorial Stockley Speed & Supply Super Late Model feature, dominating the non-stop 26 lap memorial event. “The heartbreak of the Camp Barnes was in my mind, so we decided to go the opposite way tonight for our setup in the feature and it paid off” exclaimed the excited winner, “I just want to thank my crew, this car was a rocket ship tonight!”
Collins started the event on the outside of the front row and immediately went to work battling with pole sitter Donald Lingo Jr. side by side for several laps. Collins finally gained the upper hand and began to pull away just as Ross Robinson entered the scene challenging Lingo for the second position. These two racers battled for three laps as Robinson continuously pulled underneath him to no avail. He then switched it up and went to the outside of Lingo entering turn three, but got in a little too high and fell back several car lengths. This allowed Cory Lawler to move in and challenge Robinson, setting up a crowd-pleasing side by side battle that lasted for 7 laps. Lawler finally wore Robinson down and found the grip he needed on the bottom to take sole possession of the third. Meanwhile, at the front of the field, leader Trevor Collins was putting on a clinic for the fans as he drove to the victory in dominant fashion over Lingo and Lawler. Robinson held on for fourth with A.J. Miller rounding out the top five.
Bryce Bashore of Bethel, PA began his defense of his 2025 track title in the best possible way, by winning the Blue Hen Dispose-All 602 Sportsman 20 lap feature event. Bashore powered his Andy Belmont owned #14 under race-long leader Andrew Hopkins with just two laps remaining and went on to the victory. Scott Hitchens finished second followed by Hopkins, Luke Bunting and Robbie Emory.
The First State Chevrolet RUSH Late Model 20 lap feature was won by Nick Davis of Millsboro, DE. Davis held off a hard charging Matt Hill to open the season in victory lane. Trevor Collins fell short by two positions of sweeping the Late Model events tonight as he came across the line third. Joey Warren & Robert Smith completed the top five.
The Delmarva Chargers saw a first time winner in their 12 lap event as Tami Collier of Henderson, MD bested her teammate Rachel Truitt for her first career win. Collier started fifth and appeared headed for another runner-up finish when misfortune struck race-long leader Derek Swafford, as he broke while taking the white flag. Collier inherited the lead and withstood a final restart to score the emotional win. Truitt chased her friend across the line for second, followed by Greg Nailor, Freddy Parks and Dean Brasure.
Ethan Brasure was also a first time winner in the Delaware Super Trucks 12 lap feature. As a matter of fact, he won in his first ever outing with his #94 truck that he just acquired! Brasure held off a persistent Chase Carter, who applied steady pressure the entire race. DJ Dewey came home third, Gary Aaron was fourth with Donnie Williams fifth.
The Southern Delaware Vintage Racing Club 15 lap feature saw Jamie Eichholz winning the Late Model event over Garritt Reagan, Roscoe Clough and Mike Winstead while Dylan Reed was the top Modified across the line finishing fifth overall.
The next event coming up at Georgetown Speedway will be on Friday April 24th when the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series comes to town for the Melvin L. Joseph Memorial 49 lap event paying a whopping $21,049 to win. Joining this prestigious series on the card is the RUSH Late Model Touring Series for their first appearance in Delaware in several years. Local fan favorite divisions Little Lincolns and the Delmarva Chargers will also be in action. Pit gates will open at 3pm, with the grandstands opening at 4pm, warm-ups will be at 6:30pm and racing starting at 7:30pm.
