Back At It: USAC East Coast Sprints, Modifieds Headline April 5 Georgetown Program

GEORGETOWN, DE – Back at it.

After a successful Mark ‘Coot’ Williams on March 29 with 123 race cars in the pit area, Georgetown Speedway returns to action this Friday, April 5 with another double-headline program topped by the 2024 Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Car opener and $3,000-to-win Millman’s NAPA Auto Parts Modifieds.

The wild, on-the-gas action of the USAC East Coast wingless Sprint Cars visits the First State for the first time in 2024 as the series kicks off its championship battle. Briggs Danner of Allentown, Pa., is the defending USAC East Coast Sprint Car champion.

Two Millman’s NAPA Auto Parts Modified events have been contested in ’24, with defending track champion Ryan Godown of Ringoes, N.J., atop the point standings. Godown was the winner last Friday night at Georgetown, his first at the Sussex County oval in more than a year.

Godown and Stewart Friesen (Sprakers, N.Y.) have each taken a Sunoco checkered flag this season.

$3,000 is on the line for a 25-lap Modified feature this Friday.

Blue Hen Dispose-All Crate 602 Sportsman also completed a pair of races in March. Gibbstown, N.J.’s Matt Peck is the point leader. Adam White of Laurel, Del., and Logan Watt of Boyertown, Pa., each have one victory.

The Crate 602 Sportsman contingent competes for a $1,000 payday this Friday.

Also on the card: Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delaware Super Trucks and Feebs Distilling Delmarva Chargers.

For the March 29 event, pit gates open at 4 p.m., with the grandstands unlocking at 5 p.m. Hot laps are slated for 6:20 p.m. with racing to follow at 7:15 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $25 for Adults, $20 for Seniors (ages 65 & up) and Students (ages 13-17). Kids (ages 9-12) are admitted for $10 and Children 8 & under are FREE.

Pit admission is $40 (ages 13 & up). Kids (ages 6-12) are admitted for $10 and Children ages 5 & under are $2.

The entire night of racing will be broadcast live on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv) via the annual subscription.
