Remembering Coot: Super Late Models, Modifieds Headline Georgetown March 26 Program

Written by Chris Moore

GEORGETOWN, DE – Remembering “Coot.”

Georgetown Speedway returns to action on Friday, March 29, with a packed night of racing to honor Mark “Coot” Williams, a long-time supporter racing in Southern Delaware.

The Stockley Speed & Supply Super Late Models and Millman’s NAPA Modifieds are both on the schedule to kick off Easter weekend for a dual-headliner event.

The Stockley Speed & Supply Super Late Models make their first appearance of 2024 at Georgetown Speedway with a 26-lap, $3,026-to-win main event, honoring “Coot” Williams’ No. 26 cars.

Georgetown’s Ross Robinson is the defending winner of the event in honor of his late cousin.

The Millman’s NAPA Modifieds meanwhile make their second go around at the Sussex County half-mile, going 25-laps for a $3,000 top prize.

Sprakers, N.Y.’s Stewart Friesen won the opener on March 9 in the ‘Jake Marine Memorial’ with the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series Fueled By Sunoco in town.

The Blue Hen Dispose-All Crate 602 Sportsman will also be on hand for the second time this season after Laurel, Del., native Adam White claimed the season opening win.

The First State Chevrolet Crate Late Models will run in their first race of the 2024 season at Georgetown Speedway on the March 29 date as well.

Also, on tap – running in 12-lap, features only programs – are the Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delaware Super Trucks, and Delmarva Chargers.

A complete general information sheet for the event can be found on the speedway website at the following link: https://www.thegeorgetownspeedway.com/downloads/get.aspx?i=919006
