Auto Gallery Presents Deron Rust Memorial This Friday, June 2 at Georgetown Speedway

GEORGETOWN, DE – Honoring a respected Delaware promoter and racer, Georgetown Speedway hosts the Deron Rust Memorial this Friday night, June 2.

Auto Gallery of Delaware presents the annual event, with the Millmans NAPA Auto Parts Modifieds headlining the program in a 33-lap, $3,960-to-win feature in recognition of Rusts trademark No. 396.

Rust was a popular dirt Modified driver on Delmarva who ultimately took the reins of Georgetown Speedway during one of its more trying eras to keep the facility operating. Rust ultimately passed away in March 2013. His family and widow Tammy remain very involved at the speedway.

The nights events are sponsored by Auto Gallery of Delaware, located at 1144A Savannah Rd Lewes, DE 19958. View inventory, request a car, receive a trade-in value or more online at www.autogalleryofde.com or call 302.645.5353.

Joining the Millmans NAPA Auto Parts Modifieds on Friday are the Blue Hen Dispose-All Crate 602 Sportsman (20 laps, $1,396 to win), First State Chevrolet RUSH Late Models (20 laps, $1,000 to win), Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delmarva Chargers and Delaware Super Trucks.

Pit gates open at 4 p.m., with grandstand gates unlocked at 5 p.m. Hot laps get underway at 6:30 p.m., with racing at 7:30 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $20. Seniors (ages 65-plus) and Students (ages 13-17) pay $16. Kids (ages 9-12) pay $10. Children 8 and under are FREE.

Pit admission is $40 (ages 13 and up), $35 (NASCAR Members), $10 for Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 for Children ages 5 and under.

All Georgetown Speedway events will again be streamed live on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv) produced by the Dirt Track Digest TV production team.

Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.

A website is live for the speedway at www.thegeorgetownspeedway.com. Like Georgetown Speedway on Facebook, follow @thegtownspdwy on Twitter, e-mail georgetownspeedway@gmail.com or contact the speedway hotline at 302.563.GTWN (4896).
