Georgetown Speedway Unveils Wegner Automotive Weekend Warrior Bonus Program for 2026
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Georgetown, Del. — Georgetown Speedway has announced a new incentive program for the 2026 racing season with the introduction of the Wegner Automotive Weekend Warrior Bonus Program, designed to reward competitors utilizing the Wegner 427 Weekend Warrior engine while strengthening long-term commitment to the track’s weekly points championship.
The program will run in conjunction with Georgetown Speedway’s weekly points series and will provide bonus money to racers both on a nightly basis and at the conclusion of the season. At year’s end, the top five drivers in points utilizing the Wegner 427 Weekend Warrior engine will earn an additional bonus on top of the track’s standard points fund payout. The bonus structure awards $1,000 to the top finisher, followed by $600 for second, $400 for third, $300 for fourth, and $200 for fifth, creating a total additional points fund of $2,500 for eligible competitors.
In addition to the season-ending bonus, racers competing with the Wegner 427 Weekend Warrior engine during regular points events will be eligible for a $250 nightly bonus, awarded to the highest-finishing eligible competitor. Any nightly bonus recipient finishing outside of the top five will be required to scale with the top five finishers and will be subject to technical inspection, consistent with Georgetown Speedway’s standard post-race procedures.
Georgetown Speedway General Manager Chad Cathell emphasized the importance of the partnership and the value it brings to racers throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. “Programs like this are exactly what we want to continue building at Georgetown Speedway,” Cathell said. “We understand the abundance of Wegner engines throughout the Mid-Atlantic, and we’re excited to provide those racers with an added incentive to compete at Georgetown on a nightly basis and commit to racing with us for the entire season. Casey Wegner and Wegner Automotive have been outstanding partners, and this program directly rewards the racers who support both Georgetown Speedway and the Wegner engine platform.”
“Wegner Automotive is proud to partner with Georgetown Speedway for the 2026 season and to continue supporting the Wegner Automotive engine program,” said Casey Wegner of Wegner Automotive. “Georgetown’s commitment to cost-conscious rule changes, including the timing adjustments for 2026, aligns perfectly with our philosophy of keeping racing affordable and competitive. These timing changes cost drivers and teams nothing to implement using the boxes they already own, and Wegner Automotive is happy to assist any team that needs help making the transition. We’re excited to support the racers who choose to compete weekly at Georgetown and invest in the Weekend Warrior program.”
The Wegner Automotive Weekend Warrior Bonus Program reflects Georgetown Speedway’s ongoing commitment to supporting its weekly racers, strengthening manufacturer partnerships, and creating meaningful incentives that reward loyalty, performance, and season-long participation. Additional program details and technical guidelines will be released ahead of the 2026 season.
