Georgetown Speedway Announces “The Old Fashioned Sussex County 4th of July Celebration” July 3–5, 2026
Georgetown, DE — Georgetown Speedway is proud to officially announce The Old Fashioned Sussex County 4th of July Celebration, a three-day Independence Day weekend event scheduled for July 3–5, 2026. This landmark celebration will revive a beloved Sussex County tradition while also honoring a historic national milestone — the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America.
Taking place during America’s Semiquincentennial, this event will serve as both a community homecoming and a large-scale patriotic celebration, recognizing the spirit, history, and resilience of the nation. The weekend will celebrate America, Sussex County, and the traditions that have brought generations together.
Set to become the premier Fourth of July destination on Delmarva, the event will feature a packed schedule of attractions and experiences for all ages.
Event highlights include:
Truck & Tractor Pulls featuring the Atlantic Pro Pulling League, returning to Georgetown Speedway after a highly successful and well-attended event this season
Freestyle Motocross and Stunt Exhibition by 406FMX, showcasing some of the top riders in the world performing world-class stunts, including motorcycle frontflips and backflips, snowmobile freestyle, and UTV backflips
Live music performances, headlined by Mike Hines and The Look, with two additional bands to be announced
Car Show
Retail and specialty vendors
Food vendors offering a wide variety of options
A fireworks spectacular, commemorating 250 years of American independence and described as unlike anything else on the entire Shore
And much more to be announced
“The Old Fashioned Sussex County 4th of July Celebration is about more than entertainment — it’s about honoring our roots, celebrating our freedom, and bringing people together for a once-in-a-generation moment,” said Georgetown Speedway General Manager Chad Cathell. “There is no better place to celebrate America’s 250th birthday than right here in Sussex County.”
The event is expected to draw visitors from across Delaware, Maryland, and the greater Delmarva region, reinforcing Georgetown Speedway’s role as a premier venue for large-scale community and patriotic celebrations.
