Godown Steals the Show Late at Georgetown Speedway on Northeastern Supply & American Standard Night

The crisp fall air settled over Sussex County, Delaware, but the on-track action at Georgetown Speedway was as hot as ever on Friday night for Northeastern Supply & American Standard Heating & Air Night at the Races.

The 25-lap Millman’s NAPA Auto Parts Modifieds feature was set with a local favorite and an invader on the front row. Georgetown’s Carson Wright fired from the pole with New Jersey standout Billy Pauch Jr. to his outside. At the drop of the green, the pair went door-to-door into turn one, with contact made exiting turn two as Joseph “Jo Jo” Watson of Milford, Del. joined the mix to make it a thrilling three-wide battle as they exited the turn and headed down the backstretch. By the end of lap one, Pauch slipped to third, only to lose another spot to HJ Bunting at the line.

Wright quickly found his rhythm, hammering the cushion and setting a torrid pace through the opening laps. At the 10-lap mark, Wright still controlled the field, with Pauch Jr. rebounding to second, Watson holding steady in third, Ryan Godown climbing from sixth to fourth, and Danny Bouc rounding out the top five.

By lap 12, lapped traffic began to slow Wright’s momentum, shrinking his advantage. Pauch closed right to the leader’s bumper, while Godown and Watson waged a furious slider-trading war for third. The first yellow of the night flew on lap 14 when Sean Metz slowed on the backstretch, setting up a pivotal restart.

Wright led the field back to the Royal Farms Restart Zone, but Pauch wasted no time making his move. Diving low in turns one and two, Pauch threw a slider for the lead. Contact was made as Wright’s No. 91 clipped the right-rear of Pauch’s No. 1, but Pauch emerged with control of the race. From there, the action heated up behind the leader. Bouc and Godown traded haymakers for position, with Godown briefly slipping over the backstretch berm on lap 16.

Regrouping, Godown charged back, and with five laps remaining, he pressured Bouc for second as Bouc simultaneously reeled in Pauch. But Bouc made the same mistake Godown had earlier, sliding over the berm and handing the runner-up spot back to Godown. With just three laps to go, Pauch held a five-to-six car-length cushion, looking poised for victory.

But Godown was on the charge, the Izzi Trucking No. 26 slicing into the gap. On lap 23, Pauch’s machine pushed up the racetrack through the tricky middle groove, opening the door. Godown pounced, sliding into the top spot with just over a lap remaining.

Once out front, Godown never faltered, securing the $3,000 victory on a dramatic night at Georgetown Speedway. Pauch settled for second, with Bouc, Brandon Grosso, and Joseph Watson rounding out the top five. Heats were won by Billy Pauch Jr and Brandon Grosso.

The Blue Hen Dispose-All 602 Sportsman division brought a stacked field of 26 cars to Georgetown Speedway on Northeastern Supply & American Standard Heating & Air Night at the Races.

From the drop of the green, Bryce Bashore proved to be the driver to beat. Fresh off a heat race victory, Bashore powered to the front and never looked back, leading every lap in what turned into a true battle of attrition.

Early on, the action was intense. On lap four, Colin Cox slowed while battling for second with Aaron Conover, bringing out the first yellow. The restart proved even more dramatic, as James Hill and Christopher Buffalino tangled on the frontstretch, triggering a massive eight-car pileup that briefly halted the race under red flag conditions.

Once the field regrouped, laps began to click off until Joe Toth slowed on lap 15, bringing out another caution. Even with the challenges, Bashore never faltered. He withstood heavy pressure from Adam White and Conover, but when the green flag flew again, it was all Bashore.

The Pennsylvania racer drove away from the field, extending his points lead and adding yet another Georgetown Speedway victory to his stellar 2025 campaign.

A random tire test was conducted for the entire Top 5 in the division, and as of the time of this article, the results are still unofficial.

The 1st State Chevrolet RUSH Late Models may have brought a lighter field to Georgetown Speedway on Friday night, but the lineup was packed with talent.
Early on, Ben Scott showed the way at the front of the pack before mechanical issues forced him to the pits. That opened the door for Matt Hill, who looked strong until slipping over the cushion in turn one. From there, Nick Davis seized the opportunity, charging late and holding off Joe Warren to capture the victory.

Following the checkered flag, engines from the first-place finisher, Davis, the third-place Hill, and the fifth-place Scott, were selected by track officials for further technical inspection in accordance with RUSH Late Model Series rules. Scott declined technical inspection, resulting in his disqualification from the night’s event and a 365-day suspension from competition within the division at Georgetown Speedway and all RUSH-sanctioned facilities.

Jay Lowman came home victorious in the Delmarva Chargers.

Scott Trice was the winner in the Delaware Super Trucks.

Eric Reed grabbed the checkered flag in the Little Lincolns.
