Davis & Hill Motors Found Legal After Full RUSH Inspection; Scott Disqualified and Suspended

Georgetown, DE — September 14, 2025

On Sunday, September 14th, RUSH Racing Series official Travis Harry arrived in Georgetown, Delaware, to conduct a full technical inspection of the impounded engines belonging to Nick Davis and Matt Hill, following Friday night’s 1st State Chevrolet RUSH Late Model Series Feature at Georgetown Speedway.

Representing the Davis and Hill teams were members of each race team, while Georgetown Speedway was represented by Track Tech Official Dan Fiedler. Harry led the teardown process of the RUSH-sealed engines, performing a meticulous inspection of all internal and external components.

The engines underwent a disassembly process where: Valve springs were tested, cylinder heads were CC’d and inspected, the camshafts were fully degreed, and the crankshafts, pistons and rods were checked for legality. The engine blocks themselves were measured, and bore sizes were confirmed to be within legal parameters.

Following this extensive review, all components of the Davis and Hill engines were determined to be in full compliance with RUSH Racing Series regulations. As a result, their finishes from Friday night’s event have been officially upheld.

In addition, the engine of Ben Scott was also selected for full technical inspection. Scott declined to have his motor inspected. As a result, he was disqualified from Friday night’s event. Furthermore, Scott has been suspended from competition within the division at Georgetown Speedway and all RUSH-sanctioned facilities for 365 days and must pay a $1,000 fine to RUSH prior to being eligible to compete again once the suspension has been served.

The engines of Davis and Hill will now be transported to Ingram Racing Engines, where they will be professionally reassembled for each team, with gaskets and seals provided courtesy of the RUSH Racing Series.

Georgetown Speedway General Manager Chad Cathell extended his appreciation to the RUSH technical team for their efforts, stating, “We appreciate how thorough and transparent the RUSH inspection process is. Having both teams represented, along with our own tech staff present, reinforces confidence for everyone in the pit area. It’s the type of diligence that keeps competition fair and honest at Georgetown.”

Track management will be contacting all drivers who competed in Friday night’s event to confirm mailing addresses. Teams are also encouraged to reach out directly if they have not yet been contacted. Once address verification is complete, all held purse checks will be mailed within 24 hours.
