Huge Weekend: Two Days of Racing Sept. 30-Oct. 1 Headlined by Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car Race

GEORGETOWN, DE – Georgetown Speedway fires back to life for a full weekend of racing on Friday, Sept. 30 and Saturday, Oct. 1.

The weekend of racing kicks off on Friday night as the USAC East Coast 360 Wingless Sprint Cars make their one and only appearance of the 2022 season.

The J.W. Brown Logging Modifieds co-headline the event, going for 25-laps around the Sussex County clay oval for a $3,000 top prize.

The Blue Hen Dispose-All Crate 602 Sportsman also return to the speedway for the first time in a month, racing 20-laps around the half-mile speedway for a $1,000 winners share.

The Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delaware Super Trucks, and Delmarva Chargers all join Friday nights program for 12-lap, features only affairs.

The Friday night portion of the weekend will count towards the Sunoco Race Fuels Championship chase of the J.W. Brown Logging Modifieds and Blue Hen Dispose-All Crate 602 Sportsman.

The following night, the 50th annual Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car race returns to Georgetown Speedway, where it started back in September of 1951. The Camp Barnes race returns to Georgetown Speedway for the first time since 1957.

The night of racing features two headline divisions, as the J.W. Brown Logging Modifieds race for 30-laps and a $5,000 top prize.

The Super Late Models join the Modifieds to headline the night, going for 25-laps and their own $5,000 winners share. This marks the first Super Late Model event of 2022 at Georgetown.

The Blue Hen Dispose-All Crate 602 Sportsman and the First State Chevrolet RUSH Late Models both join the Saturday night affair, each racing $1,500 top prizes.

The Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delaware Super Trucks, and Delmarva Chargers once again join the program for 12-lap, features only affairs.

Saturdays portion of the weekend will not carry points towards the Sunoco Race Fuels Championship chase.

For the Sept. 30 event, pit gates open at 4 p.m. with grandstand gates following at 5 p.m. Hot laps are slated for 6:45 p.m. with racing scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $20 for Adults and $16 for Seniors (ages 65 & up) and Students (ages 13-17). Kids (ages 9-12) admission is $10 and Children 8 and Under are admitted FREE.

Pit admission is $35 (ages 13 & up). Kids (ages 6-12) get in for $10 and $2 for Children 5 & Under.

For the Oct. 1 event, pit gates open at 2 p.m. with grandstand gates following at 3 p.m. Hot laps begin at 6 p.m. and racing follows at 7 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $20 (Adults), $16 (Seniors ages 65 and up) & Students (ages 13-17), $10 (Kids ages 9-12) and Children 8 and under are FREE.

Pit admission is $40 (ages 13 and up), $10 (Kids ages 6-12) and $2 (Children ages 5 and under).

There is a rain date of Sunday, October 2 for the Camp Barnes Benefit Stock Car Race.

Careys Towing will be recognized at intermission for their continued support of the Delaware State Police and Camp Barnes.
