Amantea Tackling Non-Wing Sprint Car and Micro Sprint Events This Weekend

Inside Line Promotions – MOUNT POCONO, Pa. (Sept. 26, 2022) – Joey Amantea is planning on competing in both a non-wing sprint car and a micro sprint this weekend.
A Rapid Tire USAC East Coast Sprint Cars show on Friday at Georgetown Speedway in Georgetown, Del., kicks off the action.
“I think we got seventh there last year and I’ve only been there the one time,” Amantea said. “Honestly we’re looking for podiums and top fives. I felt pretty good there last year so going back there now with a better setup I think we can be a lot better.”
Amantea enters the event ranked fourth in the USAC East Coast Sprint Cars championship standings.
The team will shift gears to micro sprint competition the remainder of the weekend as they invade Spirit Auto Center Speedway in Swedesboro, N.J., on Saturday and Sunday for the Skyscraper.
“Considering our record at that track and with getting fifth the one time we showed up in the 600 this season I couldn’t be more excited for this weekend,” he said. “I’m super pumped to run the micro sprint at a fun track. We haven’t had too much of that with the micro sprint this year.”
