Racing Returns to Georgetown Speedway October 1 with Modifieds, USAC Sprints

GEORGETOWN, DE – Racing returns to Georgetown Speedway on Friday, October 1, as the final race before the season ending ‘Mid-Atlantic Championship weekend.

The Rapid Tire Service USAC East Coast Sprint Cars join the Chesapeake Paving Modifieds to headline the full night of racing.

The USAC East Coast Sprint Cars head to the Sussex County half-mile for the second and final time this season. Their July 23 appearance was the highest-attended Friday night by spectators since the BD Motorsports Media promotional team took over.

Allentown, Pa.s Briggs Danner claimed the 25-lap event back in July, besting his closest competitor on the 360 Sprint Tour, Collegeville, Pa.s Alex Bright.

Frenchtown, N.J.s Billy Pauch Jr. leads the Chesapeake Paving Modifieds into the night of racing, having won three consecutive Modified races at the progressively banked half-mile speedway.

While Pauch Jr. wins the battles, Boyertown, Pa.s Ryan Watt continues to lead the war, holding a 47-point advantage of Milford, Del.s H.J. Bunting in the Georgetown Speedway Sunoco Championship Chase.

The Modifieds will go 25-laps for a $3,000-to-win main event and get their final tune-up at Georgetown before the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) invades Georgetown on Halloween weekend to round out the season.

The Blue Hen Dispose-All Crate 602 Sportsman also join the night of racing in a 20-lap, $1,000-to-win affair.

Defending champion and current point leader Joe Toth, of Newtown, Pa., comes off his first Georgetown win of 2021 in the ‘Blast at the Beach back on August 24.

The Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delaware Super Trucks, and Delmarva Chargers are also on the card for 12-lap, feature only events.

For the Oct. 1 event, pit gates open at 4 p.m. with the grandstands opening at 5 p.m. Hot laps are set to begin at 6:20 p.m. with racing following at 7:15 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $20 for Adults, $16 for Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 13-17). Kids (ages 9-12) are $10 and Children eight and under are admitted FREE.

Pit admission is $35 (ages 13 and up), $10 for Kids (ages 6-12) and $2 for Children 5 and under.

The event will be streamed live on FloRacing (www.floracing.tv) as part of the annual subscription.
