Georgetown Speedway Announces 2020 Schedule of Events; Sunoco Point Series Unveiled

GEORGETOWN, DE – The fifth anniversary season for BD
Motorsports Media LLC at Georgetown Speedway has taken shape.

The Sussex
County half-mile oval will host a 2020 season filled with unique promotions and
special events.

New for the 20
campaign are Sunoco Race Fuels Championship Series point championship battles
for the L&J Sheet Metal Modifieds, Crate 602 Sportsman and RUSH Late
Models, with point title winners decided at year-end.

L&J Sheet
Metal Modifieds will race for a $2,500
Sunoco Race Fuels championship. Teams will accrue points on the following
dates: March 7, May 15, July 24, August 25, September 11, October 2 and October
31.

Crate 602
Sportsman vie for a $750 title with
race dates on March 7, May 15, August 25, October 2 and October 31.

RUSH Late
Models battle for $750 to win the
championship with events on March 6, April 16, July 24, September 11 and
October 30.

Drivers
placing inside the top-five with perfect attendance will share in Sunoco Race
Fuels Championship Series year-end cash.

The season
gets the green flag with an Open Practice on Tuesday, March 3, followed by the
Melvin L. Joseph Memorial weekend on Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7.
This event carries a rain/weather date of March 13-14.

The Bob
Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series (STSS) Fueled By Sunoco Modifieds
headline the Melvin L. Joseph Memorial with a 49-lap main event offering $10,049 to win – a new all-time high
winners share for the speedway.

STSS Modified
Velocita-USA South Region Modifieds and STSS Crate 602 Sportsman South Region
each make three appearances during the season: March 6-7 during the Melvin L.
Joseph Memorial, the ‘Blast at the Beach on Tuesday, August 25 and
Mid-Atlantic Championship Weekend October 30-31.

For the first
time ever, the Zimmers Service Center Inc. ULMS Racing Series will sanction a
Super Late Model event at the speedway during Mid-Atlantic Championship
Weekend.

Rapid Tire
USAC East Coast Sprint Cars, after a fan-pleasing debut a year ago, return for
two Friday night dates: July 24 and October 2.

The Capitol
Renegade United Racing Club (URC) 360 Sprint Cars make their annual stop on
Friday, September 11.

Georgetown
will again take part in the four-night ‘Battle of the Bay on Thursday, April
16 featuring the RUSH Late Model Series in a $3,000-to-win event. Super Late
Models will also be in competition at this event in the Mark Williams Memorial
$3,026-to-win, 26-lap event.

The Monster Truck
Racing League (MTRL) returns for a two-day event on Thursday, June 11 and
Friday, June 12. Advance tickets will be on sale in the near future.

Season passes
for the 20 season are now available. Grandstand season passes cost $175. Pit
area passes cost $275. Season passes include all speedway events including Monster

Georgetown
Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the
intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles
from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.
