GEORGETOWN COMPLETES FRIDAY PRACTICE, SATURDAY MELVIN L. JOSEPH MEMORIAL A GO!

Georgetown Speedway opened its gates Friday night for an open practice session with 40 race cars taking part on a tacky and fast half-mile clay oval. Among the Modifieds shaking down for the Saturday Melvin L. Joseph Memorial were Stewart Friesen, Andy Bachetti, Craig Hanson, Dillon Steuer, Jim Britt, Jordan Watson, Jeremy Smith, Cass Bennett, Matt Jester, Jeff Brown, Kevin Sockriter and Norman Short.

Divisions represented were Modified, Super Late Models, L&J Sheet Metal Crate 602 Sportsman, Little Lincoln, RUSH Crate Late Model, Delmarva Charger and Delaware Super Truck.

Racing for Saturday, the Melvin L. Joseph Memorial is a GO, the opener of the Bob Hilbert Sportswear Short Track Super Series Fueled By VP big-block/small-block Modified Velocita South Region.

The updated March 11 schedule is as follows: pit gates open at 11 a.m., grandstand gates at noon, hot laps at 1 p.m. and racing at 2 p.m.

Joining the STSS Modifieds on the Saturday program are the Crate 602 Sportsman paying $1,000 to win and $100 to start plus Southern Delaware Vintage Stock Cars, Little Lincolns, Delmarva Chargers and Delaware Super Trucks.

Adult grandstand admission is $20. Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 13-17) pay $16. Kids 9-12 pay $10 and Children eight and under are FREE. Pit admission is $35 (ages 13 and up), $10 (ages 6-12) and $2 (five and under).
