NASCAR Hall of Fame Driver Bobby Allison To Appear At Georgetown Speedway Friday, September 30; Stockley Tavern Brings Alabama Legend To Historic Half

GEORGETOWN, DE €“ Bobby Allison, one of the sports true legends, will appear at Georgetown Speedway on Friday, September 30.

Thanks to marketing support from Stockley Tavern & Package Store, Allison will serve as the Grand Marshall at the event which is headlined by a $3,000-to-win, 25-lap big-block/small-block Modified plus a full card of stock car racing on the fast half-mile clay oval.

Allison, a lifelong resident of Hueytown, Ala., won some 84 NASCAR Winston Cup series races and was the series champion in 1983. He won the prestigious Daytona 500 on three occasions: 1978, 1982 and 1988.

Allison was inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2011 and was also named one of NASCARs 50 Greatest Drivers.

Allisons appearance at Georgetown is made possible through the sponsorship support of Stockley Tavern & Package Store, located just south of the speedway on Route 113. Stockley Tavern & Package Store is on the web at www.stockleytavern.com.

As a special promotion, the Stockley Tavern & Package Store is offering Happy Hour pricing for attendees who stop in after the Sept. 30 program and show a Georgetown ticket stub, wristband or season pass.

Joining the Modifieds on the program are Super Late Models in a Brown Bag invitational, Crate 602 Sportsman, Southern Delaware Vintage Cars, Little Lincolns, Delmarva Chargers and Delaware Super Trucks.

Pit gates will open at 4 p.m. Grandstands open at 5 p.m.  Racing gets underway at 6:20 p.m., with racing at 7:15 p.m.

Grandstand admission is $18 for Adults, $14 for Seniors (ages 65 and up) and Students (ages 13-17). Kids 9-12 are $10. Children eight and under are FREE. Pit admission is $30 with no license required.

Georgetown Speedway, originally constructed by Melvin L. Joseph in 1949, is located at the intersection of Route 113 and Speedway Road in Georgetown, Del., just miles from the Delaware beaches and less than a 40-minute drive from Ocean City, Md.

A new website is live for the speedway at www.thegeorgetownspeedway.com. Like Georgetown Speedway on Facebook, follow @thegtownspdwy on Twitter, e-mail georgetownspeedway@gmail.com or contact Brett Deyo at 845.728.2781 during business hours for more information.
